The Roseville Public Library will go Fine Free on September 1, 2022. Overdue fines will no longer be charged on Roseville Public Library items, and all previously-accrued overdue fines on Roseville items will be waived, as long as the item has been returned. That’s right; you will never be charged overdue fees on Roseville Public Library items ever again!
Part of the Library’s core mission is to provide equal access to information, services, and opportunities that empower, enrich, and enhance the quality of life for all. Fines are a barrier to that access. Eliminating overdue fines opens doors to all in our community to utilize the resources the Library offers.
Please note that items belonging to other libraries–including MeLCat items–may still incur overdue fees if they are returned late. Additionally, Roseville Public Library materials will be considered lost if they are kept 4 weeks beyond their final due date. Patrons will be billed the replacement cost as well as a processing fee for items that are lost. Items returned damaged will also be billed accordingly.
