The Michigan Activity Pass (M.A.P.) presented by The Library Network (TLN) debuted May 24, 2013. The statewide partnership offers library cardholders access to 120 historic and cultural destinations.
Good news for those who like the Park and Read Program/MI Big Green Gym! They have merged with M.A.P. and you can now get passes for the participating 102 state parks and 134 state forest campgrounds through the M.A.P. site.
The current year is scheduled to run through May 23, 2017. The program continues thanks to the support of Plymouth Rocket, Library of Michigan, Cooperative Director's Association, mParks, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Institute of Museum and Library Services, MI Big Green Gym, Every Kid in a Park, and National Park Service.
M.A.P. is an online program. Library users with a valid library card can print a pass, either from home or at the library, to one of the nearly 60 participating institutions. Some cultural partners offer complimentary or reduced price admission; others, discounts in their gift shop or other exclusive offers for Michigan Activity Pass holders only. Each pass expires within one week from the date it is printed. Each library will have five passes for each of the participating organizations available.
Passes are for one-time use and are not transferable. The institution will collect the pass when you visit. Special exhibits may not be covered, and other exclusions may apply. Please note that the pass is good for seven days from the day of checkout, unless a cultural partner is closed or has otherwise specified a "blackout day" when a pass may not be used.
Only one Michigan Activity Pass is available per library card each week.
